The Students' Union is committed to building an equitable and inclusive campus community. We recognize that there are groups within our membership – women, lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans students, poor and impoverished students, students with disabilities and racialised students – that are marginalised on campus and in our society.
To respond to the issues faced by these students, the RSU has five Equity Service Centres:
Each Equity Service Centre seeks to support progressive social change and works to meet the advocacy and social needs of students by building a more inclusive Ryerson. Groups operate from an anti-oppression framework and consider the intersection of identities when organizing events and campaigns. Each group offers volunteer opportunities, events, and resources.
For more information and to get involved, visit us on the 2nd floor of the Student Centre or contact the Equity & Campaigns Organiser (information listed below).
The Ryerson Activist Assembly is an opportunity to build knowledge of social justice, sustainability and student action issues, as well as build skills to enhance your work in the students' movement.
The Ryerson Activist Assembly is held once a year.
Check out the Activist Assembly Page for more information.
